Stoke YL meets each Saturday to have fun and learn from the Bible together. On this page is a quick summary of some of the things we get up to. You can find all our events listed on our calendar.
Our regular weekly meetings run from 7:30pm until around 9pm. They consist of some fun activities related to the topic for the evening and some time spent looking at God's word, the Bible. This includes a 20-30 minute talk from a speaker. There is usually some time for fellowship at the end of the meeting, with people heading for home around 9:15-9:30pm.
Every couple of months we run a special evening filled with fun activities, and finish off with a short talk which explains clearly and simply the message of the Christian gospel. These events are primarily for friends of those who come regularly, but are open to anyone. We also have a number of other different things going on occasionally, and you can find out all about them on this page.
We have a number of weekends each year when we go away to spend time studying the Bible and having fun together. We have a branch weekend away and also other weekends with other branches from around the North West or the Midlands each year. Every few years we have a national weekend away where all the branches from across the country come together, which is always a very special time!
Over Easter weekend each year some of us travel to Southport or Liverpool to join with other YL branches in the North West for a weekend of open air outreach in the town centre, as well as some evening events held in the building of our host church.
Over the summer YL run a number of activity holidays for 10-18-year-olds with plenty of fun as well as great Bible teaching. Some of our members attend these holidays each year. To find out more, check out this page.
YL has strong links with United Beach Missions (UBM), and many of our members from Stoke go on UBM teams each summer. This is a great way to share the good news of Jesus with families holidaying at the seaside, tourists looking round some of the UKs most popular cities, or international students studying at some of the UKs universities. For more information see this page, or the UBM website.
